The first tattoo machine is invented in 1891,which put an end to the traditional of tattooing and make the tattooing more convenience. Latter, companied with the development of the society, more and more modifications of the original design have emerge into our eyesight. But , there are three styles which are used more frequently.
The first that I will show you is the rotary machine, which is invented by Samuel O’Reilly in 1891. This tattoo machine use the traditional technology and they are motived by an electric motor which was changed by Manfred Kohrs till 1978. They are lighter than most other tattoo machines. It’s used widely,the reason,I think, maybe that this tattoo machine is less harsh to the skin.
The second is the coil machines. The motivation of this tattoo machine is the electromagnetic circuit. They are made with one to three coils and each coil has different amounts of wraps. This tattoo machine is heavy,so, it’s hard to handle for a long period of time. But they are not expensive.
The third type of tattoo machine is pneumatic machine,which was invented in 2000 by Carson Hill. I must say that this tattoo machine is more expensive than others and also is more rare to be seen. Because it’s workmanship is special. This tattoo machine use an air compressor as its motivation, so it’s light to be handled and when you want to sterilize it, you need not to dismantle the tattoo machine.
